Thorn Grove Primary welcomes you

We welcome you and your family to the successful partnership of children, parents and staff which is the foundation of the caring and learning community of Thorn Grove Primary School

Schools vary enormously in achievement and atmosphere. Our distinction lies in the children of our school. Being polite, hard working, successful and well-behaved does not necessarily set them apart from other children in the district, but when this is allied with the sense of order and calm, the quiet confidence and caring attitudes which are the hall mark of our children, Thorn Grove becomes a very special school.

Relationships underpin our ethos and values. Working within a secure and caring environment we look to foster positive relationships with our children, parents, families, community and Governors based upon respect, trust and enjoyment.

‘Ofsted’ describe Thorn Grove as ‘a very effective school’, which ’provides extremely well for pupil’s all-round development’. Further comments indicate that ‘the quality of education provided by the school is very good’ and ‘overall, teaching is very good’, leading to the judgment that ‘pupils achieve well’.

Perhaps the most pleasing comment was that ‘The pupils are highly valued and respected by other pupils and staff alike, and contribute very well to the climate of warmth, friendship and family feeling in the school’.
